Lance Peterson

Lance Peterson

President/Funeral Director/Certified Pre-Planning Consultant

Lance is the president of Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. He is a fifth generation funeral director and has been active with the firm since August of 1994. He is a Willmar native and graduate of Willmar High School in 1988, the Willmar Community College in 1990 and the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mortuary Science in 1992. Lance is an active member of the Church of St. Mary. He currently serves on the board of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association. He is a Past President of Willmar Noon Kiwanis, Past President of Main Street Willmar, past member of Willmar Area Chamber Board and current member of Little Crow Anglers, Little Crow Archers, Willmar Rifle and Pistol Club. He is active with the West Central Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and supporter of numerous local conservation groups. Lance lives in Willmar with his wife, Tina and their three children, Blake, Ari and Ellary.

Rolf is a graduate of Willmar High School, Macalester College and the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's degree in Mortuary Science. He is a fourth generation funeral director and has been active with the firm since 1962. Rolf is a Past President of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association, an active member and Past President of the Willmar Lions Club and is currently Vice President of the Willmar Area Shine Club. He is a member of Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar.

Secretary/Treasurer

Caryl is a graduate of New Ulm High School and Gustavus Adolphus College with a B.A. Degree and Vocational Teaching Certificate. She is also a Certified Mortuary Technician. Caryl serves as the corporation's Secretary-Treasurer. She is a Distinguished Past President of Sunrise Kiwanis, Member of Minnesota Federation of Music Clubs State Board, West Central Concert Series Board Member, Willmar Shrine Auxiliary, the P.E.O. Sisterhood.

 Terry Smith

Funeral Director

Terry is a native of Windom, graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Mortuary Science in 1996 and minor in psychology and counseling. He has worked as a funeral director in Willmar area since 1999. Terry is an active member of Vinje Lutheran Church and has served as an usher, pastoral assistant and on church council. He is a member of the Willmar Noon Lions Club and served as a Cornea Procurement Technician for the U of MN Lions Eye Bank for over 20 years, receiving both the Helen Keller and Melvin Jones awards. He has also served on the Willmar Community Center Board, treasurer for the Widow's Person's Support Group, Boy Scout Cubmaster for St. Mary's Pack #227, a past volunteer Firefighter and is active with the Willmar Lakes Area Chamber. He and his wife Tanya have two children, Eli and Sophie. They enjoyed spending time at the lake and supporting each other in all of their activities. Terry is proud to live among the people he serves, helping create meaningful service in honor of their loved ones.

Audrey is the Preplanning consultant at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. She is a licensed insurance agent, specializing in funeral burial insurance. She is an active member of Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar and is active in the community, serving on the Willmar City Council and the Willmar Community Center Board. Sean Petermeier

Sean Petermeier

Certified Pre-Planing Consultant

Sean grew up and graduated from high school in Alexandria, MN. He then attended Central Lakes College and Hennepin Technical College, where he focused on business management. Sean holds an insurance license, as well as a degree from the Funeral Service Foundation Board of Trustees with a Certified Professional Consultant designation.

Sean grew up in a family that worked in the funeral profession. After finishing his education in 1998, he returned to his family's funeral home in Alexandria, where he worked as a Certified Preplanning Consultant. In 2007, his family sold the funeral home, and began his own funeral prearrangement and monument sales business. Since 2015, Sean has been assisting families with the prearrangement process at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.

As a funeral preplanning specialist, Sean educates families on all of their options and helps them to create customized services in advance of need. As a funeral consultant, he has helped hundreds of families with their funeral and memorial needs. His experience, expertise, and professionalism are a great help to families that are considering their options.
