Obituary

Philip A. Jager, 72, of Spicer, passed away Tuesday, October 19, at Carris Health Rice Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Phil was born July 9, 1949, in Sauk Centre, Minnesota, the son of Norbert and Ann Jager.  He grew up in Sauk Centre and graduated from Sauk Centre High School.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army, he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.  Phil was the recipient of the Silver Star and the Bronze Star.  In 1970, he married Patricia Louden and they made their home in the Spicer community where he owned and operated Jager Excavating.  Phil was an avid ice fisherman and could be found every winter fishing on Green Lake, (the man in the little red truck). 

 

He is survived by his wife, Pat of Spicer; three daughters, Kristina Jager (and Odin Gilbertson) of St. Paul, Lindsey Jager of Madison, WI, and Ashley Jager of Spicer, and two grandchildren Gabriel and Brynhilde Gilbertson.  Also surviving are two brothers, Peter (and Sue) Jager and Paul (and Lucy) Jager; three sisters, Josie (and Lee) Kerfeld, Judy Pieper and Jean Otte; three brothers-in-law, Tim (and Nancy) Louden, Chris (and Debbie) Louden and Steve (and Sue) Louden; four sisters-in-law, Barb (and Rich) Essler, Mary (and Dick) Horn, Judy Loudon and Trudi (and Billy) Glenz Louden-Corder, and innumerable nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, other relatives and many friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.
