Leonard Louis Cupps Sr. age 83 of Willmar, passed away Friday morning January 29, at Carris Health Rice Memorial Hospital.

Leonard Louis Cupps Sr. was born on September 27, 1937 in Dubuque, IA., the son of, Donald and Eloise (Braem) Cupps. Leonard grew up in Prairie du Chien. WI and Port Orchard, WA. From 1956-1962, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. On May 29, 1964, Leonard was united in marriage to LaVonne Janeanne Cooke. They lived in WA, OR, CA, and CO. Leonard worked as a machinist for Boeing Inc. and retired in 1995. In 1999, they moved to Willmar. He enjoyed oil painting, building model sail ships, and auto mechanics. Leonard was a genius at fixing all kinds of things.
He survived by his wife LaVonne; eight children, Leonard Jr. (Kelly) of WA, Raymond (Pam) of Murdock, Marcus (Ruth Ann) of Willmar, Matthew (Josie) of AZ, Lucus of Willmar, Gregory (Stephanie) of Saint Cloud, Cheryl Page of Willmar, and Macarria Cupps of Willmar; nineteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Josephine Briedenbach of WI, Fran (Dennis) Nelson of WA, Eloise (Charles) Davis of WA, and Mikki (Bud) Qualheim of WA.; and two brothers, Richard Cupps of WA and Patrick Cupps of OR, besides other relatives and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, three brothers; Donald Jr., Clarence, and Gary; and two sisters in-infancy.
