Judy Ann Hollingsworth was born in Jacksonville, Texas on September 29, 1942, the eldest daughter of Richard Coke and Annie Pauline (Boles) Hollingsworth. Judy grew up an Army brat and traveled around between Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. She attended Gadsden HS in New Mexico when she met Adam George Mort Jr. at a local square dance. At 17 years of age, on May 28, 1960, they were wed and moved back to Adam’s hometown in East Liverpool, Ohio.
On April 7, 1961, Judy gave birth to her eldest son, Jeffrey Lynn. Four years later on February 24, 1965, her second son, Brian Keith was born. Judy loved her two boys. She went to every baseball, football, basketball game, track meet or wrestling match. She ran the concession stand at little league football games and hand made programs for each week’s game with hand colored logos on the front of each one. She also loved to bowl and was the secretary for two different leagues. She and her friends would make their trek each year to the Ohio State Bowling tournament.
Once the boys were a little older, Judy decided to find a career. She started working in the elementary cafeteria as a cook. She continued doing that until they left East Liverpool in 1983. From there life sent Judy to Richville, MN. Adam took a job running a Christmas tree farm and resort for a private computer company. Judy helped out and continued bowling.
A few years later they moved to the Chicago area as Adam went to work for a computer store. Judy picked up her career in food service. She worked for several different school systems and in the summer operated the cafeteria at boy scout camps.
When Adam decided to retire, they moved back to Minnesota to be closer to her boys and settled in Moorhead, MN. Judy was the food services manager at Dilworth Glyndon Felton until she finally retired.
In her spare time, Judy loved to cook, read and crochet. She enjoyed watching all sports but especially baseball, being an avid follower of the Pittsburgh Pirates when they lived in Ohio and the Minnesota Twins once coming to Minnesota...and she loved her Dallas Cowboys!
When Adam passed away, Judy remained in Moorhead for a couple years before moving to Willmar to be near Brian once again. She spent the last five years at Vista Prairie at Copperleaf.
Judy is survived by her two sons, Jeff (Brenda) Mort of Blaine and Brian (Connie) Mort of Willmar; four grandchildren, Amanda Wreede of Willmar, Greg (Korey) Mort of Wanamingo, April (Zach) Woltjer of Perham and Tayler Mort of Eau Claire, WI., and her plus one Nathan Imse; four great grandchildren, Aspen Wreede, Brooklyn Mort, River Wreede and Lukas Mort.
