Devon Lon Remmel

February 17, 1979 ~ February 26, 2021 (age 42)


Devon Lon Remmel, age 42, of Grove City, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, February 26, at his residence.


A time to celebrate Devon’s life will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, March 19, at the Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home.  A private interment at a later date will be at Union Cemetery.  Arrangements by Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home.


Devon was born on February 17, 1979, in Litchfield, Minnesota, the son of Leroy and Charlot (Rosenquist) Remmel.  He grew up in the Grove City community, was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran / Trinity Lutheran Church and graduated from ACGC High School in 1998. As a teenager, Devon worked in the fall for Green Giant harvesting crops.  Devon later attended Central Lake Community College in Staples and received certification in cement pump operations and began working at Cemstone Concrete in Delano.  He later founded D & S Floor Restore which he operated for several years.  He later owned and operated the IDK Bar and Lanes in Atwater.  On August 25, 2007, he married his high school sweetheart, Sara Peterson.  They made their home in Grove City and were later divorced.  Recently Devon worked miscellaneous jobs in the area and cared for his family.


Devon enjoyed dirt bikes, mud trucks and Redneck Sundays.  He also enjoyed playing video games, spending time in the woods and researching numerous “conspiracy theories”.   He loved being with his boys and dogs.


He is survived by his beloved sons, Jordon Peterson and Hunter Remmel; his mother, Charlot; two siblings, Dayna (and Judd) Latham of New London and Damon Remmel of Grove City; three nieces and one nephew, Ana Remmel, Jessica Dick, Tyler Dick and Bree Latham; besides other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
