Zelda Minke

Zelda L. Miller Minke, age 88, of Willmar, died Tuesday afternoon, December 19, at the Bethesda Pleasantview Nursing Home in Willmar.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 22, at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Steven Bielenberg officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Zelda Miller Minke was born September 13, 1918, in St. Cloud, the daughter of John and Warda (Burwick) Bergman. She grew up in the St. Cloud community, graduated from St. Cloud Tech High School and from St. Cloud State Teachers College. In 1938, she married Harold E. Miller in St. Cloud. They lived in St. Cloud until 1947, when they moved to Willmar. Harold Miller was employed by the Sears Roebuck Company and was mayor of Willmar for a number of years and served as the Kandiyohi County Treasurer until his death in 1969. Zelda was employed by Bremer Bank for several years. She served out the term as county treasurer and served for 23 years as the county treasurer. On June 22, 1972, she married Donald Minke. He died in 1994.
She is survived by five children, Robert Miller of Trinity, Florida; Donald (and Jean) Miller of Green Bay, Wisconsin; James Miller of Willmar; Ronald (and Diane) Minke of Spicer and Mary (and Paul) Heimbuch of Cary, Illinois; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a son, Richard in 1982; three brothers and a sister.
