William "Will" Triden

January 31, 1940 — October 4, 2021

William "Will" D. Triden, age 81, of Willmar, passed away Monday morning, Oct. 4, at Carris Health Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Interment will be at West Norway Lake Lutheran Cemetery near Sunburg.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Arrangements by Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Will was born on  January 31, 1940, in Sunburg, Minnesota, the son of Ronald and Eleanor (Gimse) Triden.  He grew up in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1958.  On May 31, 1958, Will was married to Sharon Johnson and they were blessed with five children, Debra, Peggy, Anthony, Chad and Christina. From 1974 to 1976, he attended the University of Wisconsin.  Will worked in construction for many years.  On September 22, 1990, Will married Marie Nelson and gained four additional children, Christopher, Michael, Joshua and Mary Beth.   In 2002, Will began working for Peterson Farms and retired in 2019.  He enjoyed spending time at family gatherings, especially playing bean bags.  His great joy was spending time with all his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Marie of over 31 years; his children, Debra (and Keith) Pederson of Willmar, Peggy (and John) Edwardson of New London, Chad Triden of Willmar, Christopher (and Sheila) Ward of Spicer, Michael Ward of Sauk Centre, Joshua (and Brenna) Ward of Devils Lake, ND., and Mary Beth (and Lynn) Wold of Brooten; nine grandchildren, Kara, Eli, Cody, Avery, Jase, Jack, Natasha, Joshua and Justine; and two great grandchildren.  Also surviving is one brother, Robert Triden, besides other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Anthony; one daughter, Christina; two brothers, Bruce and Daniel and one sister, Bev.
