William Anderson

June 1, 1924 — November 9, 2006

William P. "Bill" Anderson, age 82, of Willmar, died Thursday evening, November 9, at the Infinia Care Center in Willmar. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 13, at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. Interment will be in Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home of Willmar.
William Pemble "Bill" Anderson was born June 1, 1924, in Willmar, the son of Miner and Bertha (Pemble) Anderson. He grew up and received his education in the Willmar community, attending the Goldenrod School and Willmar High School, graduating in 1942. He attended watchmakers school in Kansas City. He returned to Willmar and opened a watch and jewelry store. On May 21, 1948, in Litchfield, Minnesota, he was united in marriage to Ruth I. Lunderby and they made their home in the Willmar area. He later owned and operated Bill's Gun Shop in Willmar until his retirement in the early 1970s. He was a member of Vinje Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the rifle and trap ranges and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and shooting at the trap and rifle ranges.
He is survived by six nephews, Chuck (and Carol) Bredeson of Willmar; Jerry (and Gwyn) Bredeson of Falkville, Alabama; Bill (and Bobbi) Bredeson of Naples, Florida; Dave (and Evon) Bredeson of Brooklyn Park; Kevin (and Wendy) Anderson of Cary, North Carolina and John (and Mari) Anderson of Willmar; a niece, Mary Beth (and Gene) Torrey of Plymouth; two cousins, Gordon (and Betty) Peterson and Paul (and Marilyn) Anderson and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth on October 31; two brothers, Neil Anderson and Loren Anderson; a sister, Phyllis Bredeson and a nephew, Larry Anderson.
