Wendell H. Anderson, age 85, of New London and formerly of Devils Lake, ND., passed away Saturday, March 7, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, at the Warwick Lutheran Church in Warwick, North Dakota.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Wendell was born on January 24, 1941, in Devils Lake, North Dakota.  He grew up on a farm near Warwick and joined his father in farming for several years.  Wendell married Marion Anderson in January of 1960, and they were blessed with three children.  In 1996, he moved to New London, Minnesota to be closer to family.  Wendell will be remembered for his smile, sense of humor and many stories of his hunting and fishing adventures.  

He is survived by two children, Marty (and Cleasa) Anderson of Oriska, ND. and Brenda (and Pat) Jacobsen of New London, MN.; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  Also surviving are three siblings, Eldon (and Kaz) Anderson of Devils Lake, ND., Marlys Mellum of Carson City, NV and Bernard (and Cherrielane) Anderson of Devils Lake, ND.; besides other relatives and friends.  

He was preceded in death by his former wife; son, Clayton Anderson; niece, Carmen Anderson; and a brother-in-law, Duane Mellum.
