Victoria Malvin

Vicki J. Malvin, age 65, of Willmar, passed into Heaven on Tuesday, June 26, at her home in Willmar following a battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Vicki's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Interment will be in the church cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Victoria Joy "Vicki" Malvin was born on June 27, 1952, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Patrick and Patricia (Sletten) Malvin. She grew up in the Danube area and graduated from Bird Island High School. She relocated to the Twin Cities for a short time to further her education and later returned to the Willmar area. Vicki worked at Kandi Works in Atwater for over 22 years and was very happy to retire earlier this year. Vicki loved her family, family gatherings, celebrating her birthday and people. She died one day shy of her 66th birthday. She never forgot a person she met and once she knew your name, it too was never forgotten. Vicki enjoyed listening and dancing to music, especially Elvis Presley.

She is survived by seven siblings, Tim (and Peggy) Malvin of Willmar, Shawn (and Lori) Malvin of Danube, Cathy Malvin of Danube, Robin Stegeman of Silver Lake, Mark Malvin of Olivia, Michelle Malvin of Danube and Sara (and Murray) Peterson of Sacred Heart; twenty-one nieces and nephews; forty-seven great nieces and nephews and three great great nephews and niece. Also surviving are her aunts, Joyce Malvin and Johanna Malvin, both of Willmar; uncles, Doug Sletten of Rapid City, SD and Darryl Sletten of Wyoming, MN; besides other relatives, caregivers and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Barbara Wold; one brother in infancy and her grandparents.
