Tyler J. Woelfel, age 22, of New London, passed away Monday, June 14.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church.  Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, June 21, at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church and will continue for one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to honor Tyler’s life may be directed to Wings of Hope, 8526 Oak Ridge Drive, Spicer, MN  56288. www.yourwingsofhope.com Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Green Lake Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Tyler John Woelfel was born on March 26, 1999, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Bill and Joy (Illies) Woelfel.  He grew up in New London, was baptized and confirmed at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, graduated from NL-S High School in 2017 and attended Ridgewater College.  Tyler was employed at McDonald’s and Little Caesars in Willmar.  He enjoyed playing lacrosse for River Lakes while in high school, kayaking, paddle boarding, deer hunting and playing video games. He had a fond love for dogs, especially his beloved canine companions, Callie and Oliver “Oscar”.  Tyler will be forever remembered for his huge caring heart, his unselfishness, having a willingness to help others and one that saw the good in many things.

He is survived by his parents, Bill and Joy Woelfel of New London, his brother, Logan; grandparents, Colette Illies of Spicer and Maury Woelfel of Bird Island, besides many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eileen Woelfel and James Illies.
