Terry S. Scott, age 79, of Willmar, passed away Wednesday, December 24, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. www.petersonbrothers.com
Terry Steven Scott was born on August 16, 1946, in Estherville, Iowa, the son of Bruce and June (Morris) Scott. He grew up and graduated from high school in Estherville, attended Iowa Lakes Community College, and later graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BS degree in Marketing. On October 25, 1969, Terry was married to Barbara Ellen Zufall. They made their home in Superior, Iowa and Spirit Lake, Iowa, and were later divorced. Terry worked at Berkeley Corporation while living in Spirit Lake, IA. He later moved to the Twin Cities and worked at Eaton in manufacturing. He moved to the Boston, MA area in 1985 and held various jobs. He moved back to the Twin Cities in 1993 and worked for Walmart, until he retired. In 2001, Terry met Kathy Ecklund and they became lifelong partners. In 2015, they moved to the Willmar community. Terry enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and camper. He loved riding his motorcycle and traveling throughout the United States. Terry will be best remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, ability to enjoy life, honesty, and thriftiness.
He is survived by his life companion of over 25 years, Kathy Ecklund of Willmar; one son, Tony (and Teri) Scott of Windom; two grandchildren, Parker (and Julietta) and Dakota (and Mallory); and one great grandson, Otto. Also surviving are two siblings, Connie Marnin of Bloomington and Mike (and Linda) Scott of Ankeny, Iowa, besides other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
