Susan Marie Nelson

Susan Marie Nelson, age 68, of Willmar, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, October 31, at her residence.

A private graveside was held at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Willmar.  A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Susan Marie Nelson was born on August 11, 1955, in Granite Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Edward and Vivian (Kostka) Elbert.  She grew up in the communities of Glick, Pennock and Willmar.  She graduated from Willmar High School in 1973 and then attended colleges in Willmar, Mankato and St. Cloud.  She earned her master's degree in education from Hamline University.  Susan was employed with the Willmar School District and taught 6th grade at Roosevelt Elementary School for over 26 years.  She enjoyed walking and running around Eagle Lake.

She is survived by her husband, Daryl Nelson and four siblings, Eddie Jr., Steve, Marilyn and Debra, besides other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
