Sharon Jean Nelson

Sharon Jean Nelson, 79, of Cloquet and formerly of Willmar, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.

Sharon was born in Willmar on August 10, 1942, to Joseph and Elsie (Meyer) Nelson.  She was raised in Willmar and continued to live there until August of 2021.

Sharon enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and shared her joy with others. She enjoyed traveling anywhere by car, hugs from family and friends, music, colorful books, and holiday celebrations, especially Christmas. She was a gentle soul who will be missed by all.

Her family would like to thank both Presbyterian Family Foundation of Willmar and Pine Ridge Homes of Cloquet for their care and compassion.  Sharon truly “blossomed” and lived her “best life” while at the Balsam House.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and a cousin, Eleanora Mead, who became Sharon’s primary caregiver. 

Sharon is survived by her cousins Cheryl Rauenhorst of Olivia, Jacquelyn Ninefeldt of Barnum, and an extended group of family and friends.
