Ruby Naber

Ruby Naber, age 96, of Willmar, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 31, at Brookdale Assisted Living.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Ruby Naber was born on November 29, 1925, on a farm near Lake Lillian, Minnesota, the youngest daughter of Gerit and Jennie (Huisman) Naber.  She grew up and received her education from the rural District #79 School.  She loved working on the farm helping her parents.  At a very young age Ruby had thoughts of the Lord. She made a commitment to God to which she was faithful all her life.  In 1949, Ruby began working as a dental assistant for Dr. Donald Gilman in Atwater and continued to work in his new Willmar office for over 32 years, taking only a year off for LPN training at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.  Following retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her sisters, doing volunteer work at Bethesda Pleasant View Nursing Home, playing dominoes, knitting, crocheting, gardening and spending time with family and friends.  Ruby took daily walks and keenly enjoyed nature.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Edwin, LeRoy and Paul Naber; five sisters, Wilma Naber, Violet Naber, Leone Hanson, Margaret Hanson and Rose Miller; three sisters-in-law, Ella Naber, Dorothy Naber and Henrietta Naber and three brothers-in-law, Carlton Hanson, John Miller and Clifford Hanson.
