WILLMAR, MN.

Roger R. Bauch, Jr., age 38, of Willmar, died unexpectedly from injuries received in an automobile accident near Montrose on Tuesday afternoon, June 5th.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, June 19th, at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar, with Rev. Dean E. Johnson officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Monday, June 18th, at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and at the church one hour prior to the services. The interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Finstad-Week Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1639 of Willmar. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Twyla Bauch Trust Fund at Wells Fargo Bank in Willmar.
Roger Rudolph Bauch was born on July 22, 1968, in Springfield, Minnesota, the son of Pauline (Nelson) and Roger Bauch, Sr.. He later moved with his family to Raymond where he continued his education and graduated in 1986. He joined the Army in November of 1985 on the "Delayed Enlistment Program" and entered basic training in June of 1986. He served in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1991. During his time in the Army he received the Army Service Ribbon, Army Lapel Button, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Star, M-16 Sharpshooter Badge, Army Good Conduct Metal, Army Achievement Medal, Driver Badge and Army Commendation Medal. Roger was discharged in January of 1992 and he returned to the Willmar area. On May 29, 1992, he was married to Twyla Jean Bruhn in Willmar. He was employed for a number of years with Willmar Poultry/PALS and later with Gillis Agriculture. Most recently, he delivered the West Central Tribune and Minneapolis Star Tribune newspapers and assisted in the renovation for the Rhino Aqua Massage on First Street. Roger was a Life Member of the V.F.W. in Willmar where he had been a Senior Vice Commander. Roger was also a past president of the Heartland Community Action Headstart Program and acted as a Policy Council Member..
He is survived by his wife, Twyla of Willmar, three children; Jordan, Mackinzey and Brittany all at home, parents; Pauline (and Ken) Murphy of Missoula, Montana and Roger Lee (and Nadine) Bauch, Sr. of Willmar. Also surviving are two brothers; John Murphy of Missoula, Montana and Brian (and Tiffany) Bauch of Willmar, two sisters; Rachel (and Isidro) Cruz of Willmar and Lora (and Jason) Handt of Raymond, his paternal grandmother, Gladys Stafford of Brainerd, and several aunts, uncles and cousins, besides other relatives and friends. Roger was preceded in death by one sister (Heidi Bauch) and maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.
