Robert "Bob" Bresnahan

August 21, 1947 — January 26, 2021

Robert “Bob” W. Bresnahan, age 73, of Willmar, passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 26, at Carris Health Rice Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at a later date.  Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Robert “Bob” William Bresnahan was born on August 21, 1947, in Willow Lake, South Dakota, the son of Joseph and Hazel (Patrick) Bresnahan.  He grew up in Morris, Minnesota and graduated from Morris High School in 1965.  From 1967 to 1970, Bob served in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam as a mechanic for the Cobra helicopters.  He continued to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves until October of 1973.  Bob was employed by the Minneapolis Star Tribune for over 25 years as a newspaper carrier in the Willmar area.  He attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  He enjoyed attending the Minnesota Renaissance Festival with friends and area car shows.

He is survived by one brother, Charles (and Alice) Bresnahan of Roseville; several nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and great nephews and special friends, Sandy Rust and Kathy Ferdinandt.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Pitts.
