Rieka Benhardine Schueler

Rieka B. Schueler, age 92, of Raymond, passed away Monday, February 23, at Glen Oaks Care Center in New London.

Visitation will begin at 12 noon followed by her funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Raymond.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Rieka was born on January 3, 1934, in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew and Louise (Reelfs) Fruehling.  She grew up and received her education in the Raymond community.  On February 8, 1952, Rieka was united in marriage to Herbert W. Schueler.  They lived and farmed in the Raymond area until 1987, when they moved into Raymond.  She was a life member of St. John's Lutheran Church.  Rieka enjoyed playing board and cards games and watching TV (especially Wheel of Fortune, Days of Our Lives and movies on the Hallmark network).  

She is survived by her three children, Lynette (and Michael) Stueckrath of Willmar, Roger (and Rebecca) Schueler of Springfield and James (and Susan) Schueler of Raymond; thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Herbert in 2010.
