Richard "Bird" Garza

Richard "Bird" Garza, age 68, of Willmar, passed away Tuesday December 9, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. followed by his celebration of life service at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 19, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com

Richard was born on January 25, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Andres and Lucia (Juarez) Garza. He grew up and received his education in Chicago and Weslaco, Texas. Richard worked for many years for his brother, Rojelio Juarez in the flooring business, traveling throughout the United States. Following his retirement about 5 years ago, he moved to Willmar, Minnesota. Richard loved fishing, walking around town and food.  Richard was a kind person who had a big heart.  If you ask anyone he helped out throughout his life, they will say he was very kind!

He is survived by his two children, Ricardo Garza and Angelica Garza, both of Willmar; one brother, Rojelio (and Shaunna) Juarez of Zimmerman and four sisters, Rosa, Sylvia, Stella and Susie, all of Texas, besides other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Selma.
