Patricia (Pat) Miller died at her home in Willmar, Minnesota on May 3, 2020 at the age of 75 with her two daughters by her side.
Pat is survived by her daughters Maribeth VanKirk and Marcia Miller; her grandsons Emmett and Isaac Ruff; her sisters Bonnie (Swede) Elfering, Sue (Ed) Benson, and Judy (John) Jacobs; her sister-in-law Lori Halliday; brothers-in-law Dan Rupp and Chuck Nigut; ex-husband Larry (Jan) Miller; and many beloved aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews; and cherished friends. She is predeceased by her parents Leo and Loretta Halliday, her sisters Jane Halliday, Linda Rupp, and Mary Nigut, and her brother Dave (Doc) Halliday.
Pat was born in Florence, Arizona on February 28, 1945. She graduated from high school in Olivia, Minnesota in 1963. Pat and her family later moved to the New London-Spicer area where Pat was the youth director at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church.
Pat resided in Willmar, Minnesota for the last thirty-two years. She was a teacher at the Willmar High School and continued to volunteer there upon her retirement. As a volunteer, Pat worked as often as possible, but was always there on Wednesdays. Her students lovingly called her Mrs. Wednesday.
Gardening was one of Pat’s many passions. She was also an avid reader, collector, sports enthusiast, woodworker, and seamstress. Pat also enjoyed spending time with her friends (RSVP) and family, who loved her dearly and will miss her very much.
If you had the pleasure of knowing Pat, you know that she treated all people equally, with genuine kindness and respect.
