Melinda J. Link, age 43, of Willmar, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, Aug. 29, at her residence from natural causes.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Interment will be at Bethel Lutheran Cemetery. Melinda Joy Link was born on December 19, 1977, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Louis Steffens and Karen Wiehr. She grew up and received her education in Clara City and Willmar. On March 18, 2000, she was married to William "Donnie" Link. They made their home in Kandiyohi, Willmar and Redwood Falls before returning to Willmar. Melinda was employed by the State of Minnesota for several years as a home health aide and was most recently at Burger King in Willmar. She enjoyed fishing, flowers, poetry, drawing, playing basketball and tennis and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her three children, Brandon Weber (and special friend, Brittney Neu) of Willmar, Brittney (and Ryan) Krueger of Renville and Kayla Link of Raymond and three grandchildren, Hayden and Camden Krueger and Malachi Weber. Also surviving is her mother, Karen Wiehr of Willmar; her twin sister, Missy Steffens of Kandiyohi and a brother, Mark Steffens of Willmar, besides many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents.
