Marilyn E. Nordin, age 79, of Atwater, passed away Thursday, February 5, at CentraCare Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by her celebration of life service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, at the Atwater Community Center in Atwater.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com

Marilyn was born on December 27, 1946, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth Ruchti.  Marilyn grew up and received her education in Willmar.  Marilyn married Kenneth Gehrt in 1964 and were blessed with one daughter, Paula and one son, Kenneth.  In 1978, Marilyn married Allen Nordin Senior.  They made their home in the Atwater community and were blessed with one son, Allen Junior.  Marilyn enjoyed bingo and trips to the casino.  In her earlier years she loved bowling, camping, fishing, garage sales and shopping with her mother.

She is survived by her loving husband, Allen Nordin Sr. of Atwater; her three children, Paula Gehrt of Atwater, Kenneth (and Lorie) Gehrt of New London, Allen Jr. (and Charmaine) Nordin of Atwater; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren; besides other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Elizabeth; three brothers, Ronald, Donald and Marvin and one sister, Verna.
