Mabel Ness, age 92, of Willmar, died Wednesday evening, May 16, at the St. Cloud Hospital,
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 11 A.M. at the Bethel Lutheran Church with Rev. Sandra Hanawalt and Rev. Mari Thorkelson officiating. Interment will be in the Eagle Lake Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Monday at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and at the church prior to the service.
Mabel Ness was born on November 6, 1914, at Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Olivia (Olson) and Ole Ness. At the age of eight, she moved to the Willmar community where she grew up. In 1933, she graduated from the Willmar High School. In January 1934, she began employment as a secretary and clerical worker for the U.S. Agricultural Department of Stabilization and Conservation Services in Willmar retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Degree of Honor and active in womens church activities.
She is survived by a son, Stuart Ness of Willmar besides other relatives and friends. Mabel is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, (John, Henry and Oscar) and two sisters, (Esther Pederson and Ann).
