Lowell “Loady” Thorson was born on July 15, 1934, in New London to Roy and Alma (Trustheim) Thorson. Loady grew up in rural New London and graduated from Willmar High School in 1952.  He moved to Minneapolis and drove trucks for Lakeville Motor Express for many years. Following his retirement, Loady returned to the New London area where he drove bus for the Peterson Bus Company. For the past year he has resided at the Glen Oaks Care Center.

Loady loved sports and was an avid bowler and softball player. He also enjoyed his luck at area casinos, hunting and fishing with his brothers, daily visits to the Middle Fork Café, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his humor, infectious laugh, happy demeanor and most fondly, his “Loady-isms.”

He is survived by five siblings, Marilyn Moorhouse of Spicer, Phyllis Nelson of Apple Valley, Roger (and Shirley) Thorson of Shakopee, Dale (and Karen) Thorson of Kennewick, WA, and Beatrice (and Dean) Brockman of Burnsville; three step-children, Tom, Wendy and Kevin; along with many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Beverly Erickson and Donna Leaf; and brothers, Eldon and Harold Thorson.

The family would like to thank the St. Croix Hospice Team for their compassion and comfort provided to Loady in his last days.
