Lowell D. Faber, age 95, of Willmar, passed away Saturday, June 21, at CentraCare Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, at the Rock of Life Christian Reformed Church in Willmar. Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com
Lowell was born on September 26, 1929, near Prinsburg, Minnesota, the son of Sam and Winnie (Bonnema) Faber. He grew up in Middleberg, Iowa and at age 12, moved with family to Sheldon, Iowa. Lowell graduated from Western Christian High School in Hull, Iowa. When Lowell was 18, the family returned to the Prinsburg community. On April 30, 1953, Lowell was united in marriage to Carol Hoiseth at the parsonage in Prinsburg. They lived for a short time with Lowell's parents on the farm and then moved to Willmar in 1954. In 1971, they moved to Eagle Lake. He worked for 23 years at All State Hatchery and then 16 years with Willmar Poultry Company, retiring in 1994. Lowell and Carol spent many winters in Arizona and Texas.
Lowell was an active member of the Rock of Life Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and canning foods. Most of all, Lowell enjoyed being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his five children, Gary (and Vonna) Faber of Pennock, Lyle (and Kris) Faber of Cold Spring, Kevin Faber of Belgrade, Carla (and Jeff) Laumb of Spicer and Beth (and Todd) Lief of New London; nine grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Larry Faber (and Rose Hayden) of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol in 2018; one sister, Sandra Ammermann and two infant grandchildren.
