Lorraine V. Ericson was born in Orange, New Jersey April 3, 1924 to Alfred and Ellen (Unsworth) Adams and graduated from East Orange high school at the age of 17. She left school early and went to work first as a legal secretary in New York City and then as secretarial support to the adjutant general's staff of the US Army Air Corp on the East Coast.
There she met her husband-to-be, Robert F. Ericson, who was stationed at Sparrows Point, Maryland. They married on December 21, 1945. They moved to the Willmar-Spicer area and built their first home on Indian Beach Road on the east side of Green Lake and started their family.
The family lived in Willmar throughout their school years until the children graduated from high school. Lorraine returned to the Green Lake location full-time, where she lived until she passed.
While raising her family, Lorraine worked for the Willmar law firm of Hulstrand, Langsjoen, Anderson and Larson, retiring in 1988. She was a long time member of the United Methodist Church in Willmar. Lorraine served as Cub Scout den mother and assisted with weekly youth Bible classes. After retiring, she was active in the community volunteering at Rice Memorial Hospital as well as with the American Red Cross Blood Drives.
Lorraine was a charter member of the Cross Roads Community Church in Spicer. She was active in the Green Lake Garden Club and the American Legion Post #545. She thoroughly enjoyed Extension Outreach 'Classy Lassies' and surrounded herself with a wonderful group of friends.
She is survived by her four children, Bobby (and John) Crossen of Spicer, Jim (and Gwen) Ericson of Spicer, Patricia (and Mark) Mallander of St. Paul, and Don (and Jean) Ericson of Spicer; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Claire Stevens and one brother, Alfred Adams Jr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1992; her parents; and one sister, Alice.
