Lois Mae Meyer

Lois M. Meyer, age 89, of Willmar, passed away Saturday morning, May 10, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by her celebration of life service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com

Lois Mae Meyer was born on January 12, 1936, in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Julius and Lila (Simson) Iverson. She grew up in the Benson community and graduated from Benson High School in 1954. On December 30, 1955, Lois was united in marriage to John Meyer and they made their home in Willmar. She worked for many years at the Singer Sewing Center and Molenaar Incorporated, retiring in 2011. Lois was a member of Vinje Lutheran Church. She and John enjoyed camping together and being with their family.

She is survived by four children, Bruce Meyer of Willmar, Vickie (and Mike) Gatewood of Lake Lillian, Terry Meyer (and Paula Nelson) of Kandiyohi, and Jason Meyer of Willmar; nine grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and one sister, Joann Weber of Benson, besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John in 2004; one daughter, Tammy Larson; five brothers, Merlin, Tubby, Gene, Jerry and Lavern; and one sister, Kathleen.
