Kelly J. Lundgren, age 61, of Svea, passed away Tuesday, January 24, at CentraCare Rice Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, at Bethel Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Blomkest Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, January 27, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to honor Kelly’s life may be directed to the American Cancer Society, (PO Box 1640 Hagerstown, MD 21741 Please put you contact information with it because they will send you a card saying thank you. Kelly Jean Lundgren was born on November 17, 1961, in Westbrook, Minnesota, the daughter of Eugene and Gladys (Erickson) Herding. She grew up on a farm near Storden and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from Storden-Jeffers High School in 1980, and then attended Willmar Community College. On April 7, 1990, Kelly was united in marriage to Steve Lundgren, and they resided in the Svea community. For the past 31 years, Kelly has been employed at ACMC (now CentraCare) as a transcriptionist in medical records. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Kelly had a love for animals. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends whether at the farm or on Big Kandi. She was known to be the life of the party and was nicknamed “Spit Fire” and “Krazy Kelly”.
She is survived by her loving husband, Steve; four children, Katie (and Kelly) Hanson of Cohasset, Tanner Lundgren of Svea, Riley Lundgren (and special friend, Kenzie Pederson) of Svea and Kourtney Lundgren (and special friend, Taylor Peterson); three grandchildren, Jayden and Austin Hanson and Westyn Peterson, and her canine companion, Charlie. Also surviving are her ten siblings, Gayle (and Keith) Wolf of Jeffers, Deb (and Reid) Miller of Storden, Connie (and David) Engen of Revere, Pam (and Steve) Harris of Willmar, Todd (and Sue) Herding of Storden, Timm (and Jenny) Herding of Westbrook, Lori (and Corey) Bunting of Dundee, Jean (and Ralph) Price of Lamberton, Tory (and Betsy) Herding of Windom and Travis (and Laridee) Herding of Storden; and her mother-in-law, Alice Lundgren of Willmar, besides many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law, Stanley Lundgren.
