Karla Winnefred Maurice

Karla W. Maurice, age 75, of Atwater, passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, November 20, at the CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital.

A public visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life service at 3 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, at the Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home in Atwater.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Karla Winnefred Maurice was born on April 23, 1947, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Burton and Esther (Lein) Johnson.  She grew up and received her education in Willmar.  Karla was married to Doug Wick, Curt Jordahl and Steve VanVleet.  In 2006, she married Robert Maurice and they made their home in the Atwater community.  Karla worked for many years as a Health Aide in the Home Health Care industry for Divine House and Presbyterian Family Foundation.  She enjoyed baking, cooking, puzzles, bingo and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

She is survived by her husband, Robert; four children, Connie Wick of Belgrade, Jodi Wick of Litchfield, Kristina Jordahl of Willmar and Farrah Maurice of Litchfield; two step-children, Kris Maurice of New London and Randy Maurice of Clinton; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.  Also surviving are two siblings, Kipp (and Theresa) Knuteson of Corpus Christi, TX., and Corby (and Pat) Cain of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
