Karen Ann Wiehr

Karen Ann Wiehr Steffens, age 76, of Willmar and formerly of Clara City, passed away on Saturday morning, June 22, at Bethesda Grand of Willmar. 

Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. followed by the celebration of life service at 11:00 AM on Thursday June 27, at the Bethesda Grand Chaple in Willmar.  Interment will be in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Karen Ann Wiehr was born on March 23, 1948, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Orville and Gladys (Knutson) Wiehr. Karen was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Raymond. Karen attended Raymond schools and graduated from Raymond High School in 1963. On March 20, 1971, Karen was united in marriage to Louis Rolland Steffens at St. John's Lutheran Church in Raymond. They were blessed with a set of twin girls, Missy and Mindy, and one boy, Mark.  Karen worked for Jennie-O Foods, Gluek Café, along with the nursing home in Clara City. Karen was a past member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and current member of Vinje Lutheran Church.

Karen enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, playing bingo and marbles along with many other games.

Karen is survived by one daughter, Missy Steffens of Willmar; seven grandchildren, Evan, Brittney, Kayla, Brandon, Skylar, Savannah, Shayla; and five great-grandchildren, Hayden, Camden, Grayden, Malachi, and Elijah. She is also survived by her aunt, Mavis Gunderson, her uncle, Simon Knutson, and her special friend, Jerry Koopmeiners, besides other relatives and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Mindy Steffens and son, Mark Steffens.
