Joyce Ramona Dittman

Joyce R. Dittman, age 94, of Willmar, passed away Friday evening, April 25, at Cura of Willmar.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. followed by her funeral service at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 2, at Bethel Lutheran Church Chapel.  Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Joyce Ramona Dittman was born on May 18, 1930, on the family farm near Round Lake, Minnesota, the daughter of George and Florence (Nicola) Erbes.  At the age of 9, she moved with her family to Iowa and later returned to the Round Lake community a few years later.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and received her education from country schools.  On November 9, 1948, Joyce was united in marriage to Harold Dittman.  They lived in various cities throughout Minnesota before residing in Sunburg in 1990.  Since 2010, they have made the Willmar community their home.  Joyce was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed reading, animals and children.  She also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Timberwolves, Minnesota Twins, NASCAR and Professional Bull Riders.  

She is survived by three children, Gary Dittman of Spicer, Sheryl (and Mark) Hylland of Sauk Centre and Loren (and Lori) Dittman of Willmar; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Karen Erbes of Grand Island, NE., besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold in 2012; one daughter in her youth, Shelly; and two siblings, Darlene Froderman and Dennis Erbes.
