John B. TeBrake, age 83 of Willmar, died Thursday morning, Feb. 27, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Mar. 2, at the Rock of Life Christian Reformed Church in Willmar. Private Interment will be at the Bethany Cemetery in Brooten. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 1, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Children of the Promise or Rock of Life Christian Reformed church. John Bernard TeBrake was born on January 19, 1937, to Herman and Jeanette (Zylstra) TeBrake in Brooten, MN. He was baptized and professed his faith at Brooten Christian Reformed Church (Brooten Community Church). He attended Brooten School. He served in the Army for two years. After his service, he worked at the Belgrade Feed Mill. John was united in marriage to Marilyn Jean Beekhuizen on June 7, 1961, in Oskaloosa, IA. Together they shared 58 years of marriage and were blessed with six children. John also drove truck for many years and co-established Truck Transport in 1987. After retirement, he loved visiting at Truck Transport, restoring Oliver tractors, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Jean, of Willmar, MN. Also his children, Joel (Aimee) TeBrake of Raymond, MN; Jill (Kevin) Arens of Elk River, MN; Jay (Kris) TeBrake of Prinsburg, MN; Julie (Revis) Nelson of Willmar, MN; Justin (Katie) TeBrake of Grand Rapids, MI; Joy (Matt) De Jager of Sioux Center, IA; grandchildren, Kendra (Terry) Ahrenholz, Kourtney (Lucas) Schwitters, Isaiah TeBrake, Gage TeBrake; Derek (Amanda) Arens, Amber (Eric) Taie, Nathan (Haylee Murray) Arens; Evan (Laura) TeBrake, Logan TeBrake, Austin TeBrake, Sabine TeBrake, Christella TeBrake; Micah Nelson, Taya Nelson; Addilyn TeBrake, Colin TeBrake, Caleb TeBrake, Greta TeBrake; Taylor De Jager, Aidan De Jager, Kya De Jager; great-grandchildren, Dean Arens, Evelyn Arens, Myra Ahrenholz; siblings, Marlene (Harry) Van Gurp, Ardis (Al) Negen, Herman (Connie) TeBrake, Mark (Denise) TeBrake, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Jeanette TeBrake and sister, Henrietta Tanner.
