John Edwards

John Edwards, age 81, of Atwater, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 27, at his residence.

A private graveside service at Union Cemetery will be held at a later date.  Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

John was born on September 19, 1941, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Arlie Clayton and Ada Winnifred (Johnson) Edwards.  He grew up in Atwater, was baptized and confirmed at the Atwater Methodist Church, graduated from Atwater High School in 1959 and later served in the U.S. Navy.  John was married to Sandra Edwards.  They made their home in the Atwater community and later divorced.  John worked at various jobs in the manufacturing industry.  He was a member of the Litchfield V.F.W. Post.

He is survived by one son, Joel (and Theresa) Edwards of Fox Island, WA.; four grandchildren, Kayla, Krystal, Joseph and Quinn; and two great grandchildren, Kya and Eric.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
