Joan Lucille Anderson

Joan L. Anderson, age 91, of New London, passed away Tuesday, April 11, at Glen Oaks Care Center in New London.

A celebration of life service will be held at First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake on Saturday, June 3rd at 2:00 p.m.  The family would like to thank Glen Oaks and St. Croix Hospice for Joan's compassionate care.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Green Lake Funeral Home in Spicer.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Joan was born on March 13, 1932, to Joseph and Grace (Pike) Anders in Two Harbors, Minnesota.  She graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1950, where she excelled in academics and music.  Following high school, she attended Kahler Methodist School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota.  Joan married Chuck Anderson in Two Harbors in 1953.  She worked as a Registered Nurse in several hospitals and clinics.  Joan's passion was sewing.  She loved to sew clothing and quilts and taught quilting classes.  

She is survived by her two daughters, Connie (Dick Rees) and Beth Anderson, besides many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Mary Louise Johnson.
