Jesus Diaz

Jesus Diaz, age 79, of Willmar passed away Friday morning, December 29, at Prairie Senior Cottages Assisted Living in Willmar. 

Visitation will begin at 12 noon followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.  Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Jesus Diaz was born on March 17, 1944, in Sesori, El Salvador, the son of Apolonio Ramos and Natividad Diaz.  He grew up in El Salvador and was married to Antonia Diaz.  Following her death, he later immigrated to the United States.  He worked in clothing factories in California and Washington and was married to Francisca Benitez.  In 2005, he became a U.S. Citizen and moved to Willmar.  He enjoyed fishing and cooking, making pupusas.

He is survived by his wife, Francisca; four sons, Jose (and Mariela) Diaz of Willmar, Abel Diaz of Cold Spring, Moises Diaz of El Salvador and Manuel Diaz of El Salvador; eighteen grandchildren; one brother, Hector Diaz of Charlotte, NC., and three sisters, Concepcian Diaz, Trinidad Diaz and Alicia Diaz, all of El Salvador.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Antonia in 1996; one daughter, Rosa Diaz; two sons, Pedro Diaz and Samuel Diaz and one sister, Adriana Diaz.
