Jerome Kerkhoff

Jerome Frank Kerkhoff, age 83, of Willmar, died Friday afternoon at the St. Cloud Hospital. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Jerome was born on April 13, 1923, in Morgan, Minnesota, the son of Joseph and Julia (Ricke) Kerkhoff. He grew up and received his education in the Morgan community and served in the Merchant Marines. On August 20, 1947, Jerome was united in marriage to Florence Barbara Braunger. They lived and farmed in the Morgan area. In 1963, they retired from farming and moved to Willmar where Jerome worked as a diesel mechanic in the Willmar area.

He is survived by his wife, Florence of Willmar; five children, Daniel (and Connie) Kerkhoff of Milltown, WI., Barbara Kerkhoff of Shoreview, Frank (and Laurie) Kerkhoff of Waconia, Vicky (and Bill) Mielke of Franklin and Elizabeth (and Paul) Meyer of Willmar; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Lowell, James and two in infancy.
