Jerome "Jerry" Leslie Narragon was born on July 18, 1944, in Paynesville, Minnesota, the son of Lorin and Gladys (Mattson) Narragon.  He grew up in the Atwater community, was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, attended Atwater High School, graduating in 1962. He played HS football and basketball and developed a lifelong interest in sports.  Later he played softball and bowled, winning a shelf-full of trophies for his efforts.   From 1962 to 1966, Jerry was stationed in Germany serving in the U.S. Air Force rocket program.  Following his service duty, he attended Dunwoody, Brown, and DeVry Institutes in Minneapolis.  Jerry was employed for many years at Control Data/Seagate, in magnetic media designs. Early in his career he spent a couple years in California and explored the west coast attractions. He then returned to MN and Control Data where he quickly rose in the ranks and received many commendations for his work efforts.

He was a devoted member of the Earl C. Hill American Legion Post #550 in Bloomington, serving as a finance officer and will be missed.  He was also active with B.A.J. "Born Again Jocks", an athletic organization for senior men, again being a finance officer. The group also collects funds and distributes scholarships to local youth.

Jerry enjoyed black powder hunting and training his beloved hunting dogs.  He also enjoyed golfing, bowling (secretary/finance officer for 3 leagues), playing softball, following NASCAR, gardening, and solving brain-buster puzzles. His community considered him a good and generous neighbor.

He is survived by two brothers, LaVerne Narragon of Willmar, Kenneth Narragon of Atwater; sister, Audrey (and LeRoy) Hoppke of Cascade, WI., and one niece, two nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Judith Ann; one nephew, Tracy Narragon; and one niece, Pam Stafford.
