Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, August 26, at the United Methodist Church, 1818 9th Street SW, Willmar, MN 56201. Jason was born on September 24, 1967, in Breckenridge, MN, to William “Bill” and Delores “Dee” Werner. Jason was the youngest of three children.  Jason settled in Willmar, in his mid-twenties and began his lifelong career at Jennie-O Foods, where he was a dedicated employee for over three decades.  Jason was a lifelong member of United Methodist Church in Willmar.

At the time of his death, Jason was sober over 35 years. Jason made the daily decision to remain “clean” and help many others do the same. This was possibly his greatest personal achievement. Jason was awarded the Willmar NA Community Eternity Medallion for over three decades of service to their community. Jason will be greatly missed by these dear friends.

Jason loved to work and simply spend time in his garage, which was meticulously organized and cared for. He spent countless hours tinkering on his prized possession, an Opel collector car, which won several awards over the years at various Car Shows and Swap Meets.

During the winter months Jason proved his limitless patience by spending extensive hours constructing model airplanes, which he proudly displayed in his home. In the summer months Jason loved to spend time at his family cabin near Willmar.

Jason was a quiet, humble man. God and sobriety were his number one priority, and his entire way of life. Jason will be remembered for his big heart, deep faith, commitment to sobriety, and his unconditional love for family and friends.

Jason is survived by his brother, William “Bill” (Juanita) Werner from Forest Lake; sister, Schellee (Jim) Foster from Port Charlotte, Florida; and seven nieces and nephews.

Jason was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.
