James "Jim" C. Plumley, age 74, of Willmar and formerly of Hector, passed away Monday morning, June 9, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. followed by his funeral service at 12 noon on Monday, June 16, at the Willmar Assembly of God Church. Interment will be in the Hector City Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com
Jim was born on April 7, 1951, in Willmar, Minnesota, to Calvin and Charis (Johnson) Plumley. He grew up in Willmar, graduated from Willmar High School in 1969, and attended Willmar Vo-Tech College. On September 1, 1973, Jim was united in marriage to Marilyn Anderson. They lived in the Willmar and Hector areas. He was employed as a truck driver for many years with Duininck, Inc and later with various agriculture trucking companies. Jim was an active member of the Willmar and Redwood Falls Assembly of God Churches. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially the Vikings and MN Twins. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, threshing shows, and tractor pulls.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 51 years, Marilyn; children, Sarah (and Jim) DeLeeuw and Ellie, Katie, Anna, Bella of Willmar, Paul (and Carrie) Plumley and Sophia of Bird Island and Tim (and Jessica) Plumley and Aidan, Harper, Oliver, Lydia of Bird Island. He is also survived by his four siblings, Nancy (and Bob) Milham of Toney, AL, Doug (and Gayle) Plumley of Grass Valley, CA, Tom (and Deb) Plumley of New London and Dean (and Nicole) Plumley of Sacramento, CA, and several nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Charis Plumley, and his son Matthew Plumley.
