Idell Lalim

Idell C. Lalim, age 91, of Sauk Rapids and formerly of Willmar, died Sunday evening, July 10, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Idell Clarice Lalim was born on March 1, 1925, on a farm in Granite Falls Township, Minnesota, the daughter of Henry and Sophie (Swenson) Anding. She grew up and received her education in the rural Granite Falls area. On September 30, 1942, Idell was united in marriage to Dennis Vernon Lalim and together they made their home in Maynard where Idell worked as a homemaker. They later moved to Granite Falls and in 1975, they moved to Willmar. Idell was employed at Jennie-O Foods, Rice Memorial Hospital and later worked as a daycare provider in Willmar. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. Idell's hobbies included gardening, dancing to old time music, and baking, especially donuts and lefse. She also enjoyed visiting with family and friends and trying her luck at various casinos.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis of Sauk Rapids; six children, Ronald (and Kathy) Lalim of St. Cloud, Harlan (and Esther) Lalim of Montevideo, Richard (and Susan) Lalim of Nowthen, LaVonne (and Darrell) Gens of Renville, Sandra Lalim of Sartell and David (and Jane) Lalim of Sauk Centre; twenty grandchildren; forty-seven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harry and Julian; three sisters, Frances, Avaline and Laverne Mae; one great granddaughter, Angel Rose and one great great granddaughter, Emily Rose.
