Grayson Evenson, age 58, of Willmar, died Friday morning, July 12, at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 19, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. Interment will be at the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Austin F. Hanscom American Legion Post #167 of Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Grayson Dee Evenson was born December 30, 1960, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Carroll and Mildred (Syverson) Evenson. He grew up in Willmar, was baptized and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church, and graduated from Willmar High School in 1979. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Army for six years and was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. Following his discharge he returned to Willmar. Grayson married Tari Hirman and they had one son, Bronson. They later divorced.
Grayson worked for over 20 years in the warehouse at West Central, Inc. in both Willmar and Minot. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and the Willmar Eagles Club. He enjoyed watching the Vikings, Twins, and NASCAR. He was also a talented drawer.
He is survived by his son, Bronson Evenson of Clara City, MN; a sister, Simone (and David) Rambow of Cologne, MN; a cousin, Dennis Evenson of Atwater, MN; his former wife, Tari Evenson; and his special friend, Renae Giinthir. He was preceded in death by his parents.
