Evelyn A. Freeman, age 95, of St. Cloud, passed away Sunday, November 13, at Talamore Senior Living in St. Cloud.
A private Celebration of Life service will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Moments Hospice in St. Cloud are preferred. Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com
Evelyn Andoris Freeman was born on November 6, 1927, in Drake, North Dakota, the daughter of Olaf and Rose (Drake) Refling. She grew up in Drake and graduated from Drake High School in 1944. Evelyn attended St. Olaf College and earned a degree in English. In 1952, she began her teaching career in Alexandria. On December 28, 1953, Evelyn was united in marriage to G. B. “Bill” Freeman and they made their home in St. Cloud. Evelyn taught in the St. Cloud School District for over 30 years. Following her retirement, they lived in Albany and Belgrade. Evelyn enjoyed golfing, reading and traveling throughout the United States and abroad, visiting 5 of the 7 continents.
She is survived by her two children, Jim Freeman of St. Augusta and LeAnne Freeman of St. Cloud (formerly of Willmar), besides other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill in 2002; one sister, Ruth and two brothers, Harold and Owen.
