Elaine Awe

July 8, 1926 — May 4, 2017

Elaine C. Awe, age 90, of Willmar, died Thursday evening, May 4, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, at the Calvary Lutheran Church Chapel. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Rice Hospice are preferred. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Elaine Cleone Awe was born on July 8, 1926, in Christine, North Dakota, the daughter of Bennie and Selpha (Hagen) Granholt. She grew up and received her education in Christine. On July 20, 1946, in Mobridge, South Dakota, Elaine was united in marriage to Clifford R. Awe. They lived in numerous towns throughout Minnesota, North and South Dakota while Clifford was employed by the railroad. Elaine was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She always had a smile on her face.
She is survived by two children, Jackie (and Dave) Eichhorst of Willmar and Jerry (and Sue) Awe of Sioux Falls, SD.; two daughters-in-law, Arnette Awe of Woodbury and Angela Awe-Colburn of Vancouver, WA.; six grandchildren, Jessica (and Andrew) Shick, Jonathon (and Shauna) Awe, Brian (and Jessica) Eichhorst, Brandon (and Rachel) Eichhorst, Sydney (and Dan) Rick and Chris (and Annie) Awe; and thirteen great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford in 2005; two sons, James and Jon Awe; and two siblings, Claire Zick and Bennie Granholt Jr.
