Douglas "Doug" R. Andrews, age 28, of Grove City, formerly of Fairmont, died Thursday afternoon, November 23rd, at the St. Cloud Hospital from injuries he received in an automobile accident.
Services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, November 29th, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Atwater with Rev. Grant O. Fischer officiating. The interment will be in the Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M., Tuesday at the Atwater Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the services.
Doug was born on June 10, 1978, in Fairmont, Minnesota, the son of Kris (Fenner) and Rich Andrews. He grew up and received his early education in Fairmont. Doug moved with his family to Atwater in 1993 and completed his education in the Atwater Schools. Doug worked as a laborer for several companies and individuals in the surrounding area. He moved to St. Cloud in 2000 and for the past few months resided in the Grove City area. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and he also loved to draw.
He is survived by one daughter, Keanna Marie Thompson-Andrews of Perham, mother, Kris Andrews of Atwater, and father, Rich Andrews of St. James. Also surviving are his maternal grandmother, Bonnie Fenner of Fairmont, paternal grandmother, Lillian Andrews of Fairmont, one brother, Craig Andrews of Fairmont, one sister, Amy (and Paul) Schmidt of Atwater, two nephews; Anthony and Trey Schmidt and four nieces; Mackenzie, Hailee, Skyller, and Alexis Schmidt, several aunts and uncles, besides other relatives and friends. Doug was preceded in death by both grandfathers and great grandparents.
