Donald Earl Williams

Donald E. Williams, age 81, of Willmar, passed away Wednesday, December 6, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Willmar.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 11, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.  Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Memorials to honor Donald's life may be directed to Divine Hospice Care.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Donald Earl Williams was born on November 17, 1942, in Niskayuna, New York, the son of Richard and Ruth (Yarter) Williams.  He grew up and received his education in New York.  From 1966 to 1970, Donald served in the U.S. Army.  Following his military service, Donald served the Lord as a minister within his Christian church.  On November 9, 1979, he was married to Carol Marie Hanson and they made their home in Willmar.  Donald worked for many years at Gurley's Foods in the maintenance department as well as other area businesses.  His hobbies included fishing, gardening, yardwork, welding and working with metal.

He is survived by two siblings, Edward Williams of New York and Christine (and Gene) DeVoll of Texas; besides many nieces, nephews and friends within his church and the Willmar community.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol in 2019 and a twin brother, Carl.
