Diane E. Dengerud - Borth, age 91, of Willmar, passed away Thursday, January 29, at CentraCare Rice Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, at Eagle Lake Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com
Diane was born on April 22, 1934, in Peoria. Illinois, the daughter of Ben and Helene (Mohler) Flenniken. She grew up in Peoria, Ill., Mississippi and California. While in California she met the love of her life, Benart Dengerud. They were married on July 28, 1950, and they made their home on a farm in Harrison Township near Kandiyohi. To this union, they were blessed with 5 daughters, Judiene, Louanne, Debra, Pamela and Vicky. Diane worked hard as a homemaker and farm wife. They were divorced in 1974 and she moved into Atwater. In the spring of 1994, she was married to Rueben Borth. They lived in Bird Island, Willmar and later in Kansas nearer family. Following Reuben's death in 2007, she returned to the Willmar community to live with her daughter, Vicky. After Vicky's death in 2014, she lived between Kansas and Annandale with her daughters, Debra and Judiene. In 2017, she became a resident of Bethesda Grand.
She was an active member of Harrison Presbyterian Church. Diane enjoyed music, especially playing the piano with her husband's band, The International Harvesters. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, playing card games (especially Yahtzee), coffee hour with her girlfriends and time spent with her family.
She is survived by four daughters, Judiene Brown of Annandale, Louanne Villnow of Willmar, Debra (and Mark) Tagtow of Rock, Kansas and Pamela Dengerud of Cottage Grove; 15 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren, besides other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben; one daughter, Vicky; three siblings, Gerald, Lawrence and Beverly; her past husband, Benart and her parents.
