Dennis Hagen

Dennis Hagen, age 76, of Sunburg, died Sunday morning, April 15, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 20, at Hope Lutheran Church in Sunburg. Interment will be at Monson Lake Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 19, at Hope Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Monson Lake Lutheran Church or Cemetery.

Dennis LuVerne Hagen was born June 2, 1941, the son of Clarence and Alma (Eliason) Hagen of Sunburg. He graduated from Kerkhoven High School in 1959. He farmed with his family while growing up and was actively farming until his death.

On March 26, 1967, he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Sundheim at Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck. They were blessed with three sons: Dale, Ross, and Gary, who all farmed alongside Dennis.

Dennis was a lifelong member of Monson Lake Lutheran Church. He loved his community and attended events, especially his grandchildren's activities. He enjoyed his trip to Norway and using his ability to speak Norwegian. He also looked forward to going to the café to have coffee with the fellas. Dennis would help anyone in his family, his church or his community that needed help.

He is survived by his loving wife: Carol; two sons: Ross (Heather) and Gary (Tara); daughter-in-law: Andrea; six grandchildren: MiKaylie, Savanna, Wyatt, Alexis, Brooke, and Darin; two brothers: Roger and Charles (Doris); two sisters: Shirley Simonson and Julie (George) Ruter; a sister-in-law: Marge Stottler; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son: Dale in October 2017.
