Delrose M. Peterson, age 92, of Willmar, died Sunday morning, June 3, at the Mount Olivet Health Care Center in Minneapolis.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, at First Covenant Church in Willmar. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Delrose Marie Peterson was born May 24, 1926, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Victor and Ruth (Beckman) Anderson. She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Washburn High School. She attended nursing school at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis. On April 7, 1951, she married Kenneth Peterson and they made their home in Willmar. Delrose worked as a registered nurse at the Willmar State Hospital and later part-time at the Christian Nursing Home in Willmar. She was a member of First Covenant Church in Willmar, where she was active in many activities and was head of the serving committee for many years. She also served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years. Delrose enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. She also enjoyed spending time with her family at their cabin on Green Lake.
She is survived by four children: Becky (and James) Mokler of Tucson, AZ, Julie (and Thomas) Larson of Montgomery, TX, Jim (and Sandra) Peterson of Hurricane, WV, and Bruce Peterson of Minneapolis, MN; six grandchildren: Matthew Mokler, Justin Mokler, Linnea Larson, Katarina Larson, Ethan (and Kristina) Peterson, and Elia Peterson; and a great-granddaughter: Sofia Grace Peterson. Also surviving are a brother: Charles (and Kay) Anderson of Maple Grove, MN; a sister: Marvel Kendall of St. Louis, MO; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Kenneth in 2009.
