Deborah Ann Behan

April 14, 1956 — September 22, 2022

Deborah “Deb” Behan was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on September 22, at age 66.

She was born to George Charles Behan and Anna Marie Leyde on April 14, 1956. After graduating from high school, Deb became a licensed cosmetologist upon completing her program at the Aveda Institute. She married her first husband Tom and gave birth to her first of four sons, Justin. Deb and Tom eventually divorced and she became married to Mike and had three more sons (Michael, Frederick, and George). The family lived in West St. Paul until 1998 and then moved to Spicer where they had vacationed previously at Indian Beach Resort.  Deb’s lifelong dream of living on a lake (Nest Lake, and then later on Green Lake) had been fulfilled.

Deb brought decades of cosmetology experience from the Twin Cities to Blondie’s Hair Harbor in Willmar. She eventually opened up a small salon in Spicer, but declining health and disabilities resulted in an early and involuntary retirement.

Deb loved music and was obsessed with The Beatles. She was also a lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings. Deb was known for being intensely selfless and generous. She was exceptionally proud of her four sons and two grandsons, Elijah and Jackson. Deb touched the lives of so many people over the years and will be missed by family, friends, and many former salon clients.

She is survived by her sons; one sister, Barb (Richard) Holmen; grandsons; and nephews, David, Brian and John.

She was preceded in death by her father, George; mother, Anna Marie; and one brother, John Behan.

Deb will be honored in a celebration of life on October 5, from 6-8 p.m. at a studio space at 755 Prior Ave North, St. Paul, MN 55104. Internment at Oakland Cemetery in St. Paul.
