Obituary


David P. Radabaugh, age 70, of Willmar, passed away Saturday, July 25, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Interment will be at Calvary Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the Willmar American Legion Post #167. David was born on September 20, 1955, in Benson, Minnesota, the son of Roger Jr. and Alice (Botnen) Radabaugh. He grew up in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1973. Following high school, David enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served stateside and overseas from 1973-1977. On July 6, 1974, at Calvary Lutheran Church, David was united in marriage to Betty Lou Hensch. Following his honorable discharge from the service, they made their home in the Willmar community. David worked as a service technician for Able Cable, Heritage Cable Vision, and Charter Communications. He retired early in life due to health reasons.

David was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Fraternal Order of Eagle’s, American Legion and the V.F.W. He served in numerous capacities including Past Commander of V.F.W. Post #1639 in Willmar. David enjoyed watching sporting events, whether cheering for his children and grandchildren or Minnesota teams, he was always a big fan. He also enjoyed golfing, traveling, cooking on the grill, making his famous homemade BBQ sauce, and anything military.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 52 years, Betty; his two daughters, Michelle (and Chad) Hage of Ironton, and Rachel Eichhorst of Willmar; and four grandchildren, Chase (and Annabell Dahlberg), Isaac, Carson, and Kianna. Also surviving are his siblings, Jim (and Linda) Radabaugh of New London, Mark (and Leslie) Radabaugh of Willmar, Kathy (and Steve) Strom of Willmar, Carol Tatge of Willmar and Charlie (and Kim) Radabaugh of Kent, WA.; and a sister-in-law, Patty Radabaugh of Sartell, besides other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings, John Radabaugh and Mary Pelky; two brothers-in-law, Roger Tatge and John Pelkey; and a son-in-law, Brandon Eichhorst.
